Podcasts on deck

Are you podcast obsessed these days? Well I don’t know about you but whoever developed this platform.. we’re lovin you! Each month it’s my intention to share with a few of my favorite podcasts and/or episodes that I am enjoying while in the studio. As many of you creatives know .. and yes that’s you, for those who know me from my Arts + Cultural Travel days I am a passionate believer in the fact that everybody has a creative side just waiting to be explored. Why my obsession with podcasts? For those days in the studio where you perform repetitive tasks .. yes like that 50th pair of silver hammered hoop earrings that need filing and sanding etc etc and that’s where the almighty podcast comes to my rescue. So without further a do, my list of 5 currently on deck this month.

1 – The Accidental Creative with Todd Henry: Somewhere I have read that this podcast has been around since 2005, phew that’s a lot of listening choice right? Worth a listen for sure, his topics and interviews are varied and fascinating; creativity, inspiration, motivation and passion for the work they do.

2 – New Dimensions Radio with Justine Toms: Another great one that was created in 1973 and I believe Jusitne Toms has been the commentator for this radio/podcast since then, she’s fab in my books! There’s a host of inspiring interviews ranging from the arts, spirituality, sciences and cultural traditions. Need I say more?

3 – The Jewelers Podcast with Brett Low & Laura Moore: This is a podcast from across the pond..yep we love those Aussie’s, so many really talented artists living way over there from textiles, visual artists, poets, metalsmith’s. And yes there nights are our days and there summer’s are our winters but who doesn’t love a podcast dedicated to the makers in the industry! I do of course and I can hear the drone of my honey’s voice while on a road trip, oh no not another jewelry podcast ;-). Great interviews here.

4 – The Savvy Painter with Antrese Wood: This one I have been listening to since my Arts + Cultural Travel biz days.. what can I say but have a listen she has inspiring stories about the business of making and maintaining a creative practice through the eyes of a painter but I think it applies across all mediums.

5- Plant Gourmet with Rob Laing: Yep, I’m a foodie that is curious and adventurous when it comes to eating and cooking and this podcast is fascinating to me as Rob interviews chefs and restaurant owners who are exploring and creating amazing plant based cuisine. I’m getting hungry.

Anyway maybe you’re podcast obsessed too? If so please do share some of your favorites with us.
